If you can’t go to the polling station on Thursday 2 May you can apply to vote by post.
You can apply online or you can request a paper application form from your local council’s elections office. Completed applications must reach your local council's elections office by 5pm on Wednesday 17 April 2024.
If you’re registered to vote by post, you should receive your ballot paper between Monday 15 April and Friday 26 April, depending on when you applied for a postal vote. If it doesn’t arrive by Friday 26 April, you can get a replacement from your local council's elections office until 5pm on Thursday 2 May.
If you have a postal vote you cannot vote in person at a polling station.
